In anticipation of publishing my fantasy novel, I’m designing a heraldry for each kingdom in the story’s world. It’s just a fun way to build interest, practice my graphic design skills, and begin sharing this story and the accompanying world with you all. Below is the heraldry for the kingdom of Riveria and a description of the said kingdom.

Riveria is the southern most kingdom on the continent of Basealia. The entirety of its southern border is the coastline of the Southern Ocean. Its eastern border is made by the Living River and lines Raleigh. To the north, it borders Anthemia, and Basititon in the west.
While Riveria is most known for its coastline, bays, rivers, and the Grand Delta, it has many others geographical features. The center of the kingdom is home to the Riverian Rockies, Lake Fondor, and the towns of Riccanburg and Alverin. In the north, runs a portion of the Southern Forest, in the northeast, is a portion of the Searing Serengeti, and in the southeast is the Blood Desert. The center of the kingdom is vast stretches of unsettled grasslands.
The Grand Delta is the transition between the Living River and Shola Bay. The natives of Lani La Wa fish and grow rice in the Delta. While the Lani natives once spread across the kingdom, the colonists from northern lands have gradually confined them to the Grand Delta over the centuries.
Shola Bay and Commerce Bay are essential to Riveria’s prosperous economy. Shola Bay grows a species of coral called gemstone coral. Unlike other coral species, when broken and dead, it crystalizes into a gem-like stone. This is sold as coralstone vastly across the continent as a cheap alternative to jewelry.
The city of Mentoria lines Commerce Bay and is the largest port and trading city on the continent. Its canal roads help transport goods from the bay through the city. Trading vessels come to and from Basition, Kriteria, Translantica and other islands in the Southern Ocean.
The capital city of Han-Riveria is the largest pre-war city on the continent. While its buildings are less modern than Han-Kriteria, the city’s size is greater. From the capital, the Maverson dynasty has reigned for centuries. During Anthemia: Kingdom of Heroes, King Ondar reigns in name and title, but the Queen Mother Velena holds more influence over the kingdom. Their dynasty has extorted the citizens and held power by backing their rule with the approval of the deity Servios. The great Serpent rules the ocean, and can send devastating storms or poor fishing seasons if the people defy his chosen monarch. At least, that is what the royal family has threatened for hundreds of years.
The royal family lives on a unique isle, called the Tidal Citadel. When the tide is low, a bridge from the isle and mainland forms. At high tide, the peninsula becomes an island again. It makes the palace impervious to siege by land or sea.
