Anthemia: Kingdom Profile

Anthemia is that place no character returns from unchanged. It is the land in the wardrobe, the Hogwarts, the Oz, that is filled with wonder and magic.
The kingdom of Anthemia is in a lush valley surrounded by ranges of mountains. Its only entrance is a tunnel that cuts under Mount Crown, the tallest peak on the continent. Past the mountains, Anthemia borders every kingdom on the continent minus Riveria.
The valley has plenty of waterfalls, ponds and streams, green meadows, and a karst forest on its western side. One of its most amazing features is Dryad Lake, known for its unusually warm and clear water, along with its near-marine wildlife.
Anthemia was founded over 1200 years prior to Anthemia: Kingdom of Heroes making it the oldest kingdom on the continent still standing. It was founded by Translatlanticans who moved to Basealia to share their faith over seas. After living among the tribes of the continent for fifty years, they partnered with the dwarves to construct the tunnel, gate, and capital city. In exchange, the dwarves were welcome to share their mines, a deal that lasted for the next few centuries.
Ever since its founding, Anthemia has been home to the Celestial citizens who proclaim salvation from Lucin’s curse through Alvator. They read and train with the Chronicle, the account of the High King’s plan through human history.
The citizens of Anthemia are intentional about finding their gift and calling in life, because in their kingdom, magic relics are gifted to those who discover how best they can serve the kingdom.
At the time of Kingdom of Heroes, Christoph is king of Anthemia. He is very hands-on and invested in the lives of his citizens. He humbly declines most of the luxuries the life of a king would normally provide. Anthony, Paul, Titus, and Gideon find themselves in Anthemia unexpectedly, but their time there will change not only their quest but their lives.
